The Perfect Holiday Souvenir
If you’ve come all the way to New Zealand to experience the beautiful lakes, mountains, and landscapes of Wānaka or Queenstown, let’s be honest, your typical iPhone photo doesn’t really do this place justice.
That’s why many families and visitors to this special corner of the South Island choose to have a professional photography session while they’re here. Not only to get beautiful photographs to take home but photographs that the whole family gets to be in… together!
That’s exactly what the Sim family, who travelled to New Zealand all the way from Singapore, did.

On a stunning evening by the shores of Lake Wānaka, three generations of the Sims did what they do best when together… play, laugh and have fun.
There was no pressure to pose perfectly or smile on cue. Instead, the Sims simply explored the mountains, gathered driftwood and enjoyed being together.
I just happened to be there to capture it all.
While we can all agree that the backdrop here is spectacular wherever you look, there is a saying in Māori culture here in New Zealand that I love:
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.
It’s the people, it’s the people, it’s the people.
At the end of the day, it is the people you’re sharing your holiday with that truly make it memorable.
So yes, the mountains and lakes of Wānaka and Queenstown are pretty special. But taking home a reminder of the people you shared them with? That’s a teeny bit more special than our scenery, wouldn’t you say?
